Miss Future Business Leader 2007 (Missouri)

These events honor outstanding FBLA members who have demonstrated leadership qualities,
participation in FBLA, and evidence of knowledge and skills essential for successful careers in
business. FBLA recognizes that men and women compete equally in the workplace.

The title “Mr. Future Business Leader” or “Ms. Future Business Leader” is the highest honor an
FBLA member can receive.

Procedures:
1) Objective test - The test may include, but is not limited to, questions about business concepts (general
business knowledge such as accounting, economics, law, communication, math, technology,
business procedures, and international business), FBLA-PBL history, FBLA programs, FBLA bylaws, and parliamentary procedure.
2) Three rigorous interviews - During the interview, participants may be asked about hobbies and other personal interests, extra-curricular activities, participation in other school organizations, and involvement in community service. Emphasis should be placed on FBLA participation and service at the local, district, state, and/or national level. Off all of the contestants, judges rank all of them a number, one being the highest. Two of the judges ranked me One, and the third judge ranked me Two (out of 25 girls).

FBLA Chapter President & School President

My senior year of high school, I was President of my school's Future Business Leader's of America. I also served as my Chapter's President and had to attend leadership camps and deal with other school's students in my leadership group. I made it to state 5 times in my last two years of high school: Entrepreneurship Team (2 times), Marketing, Job Interview and Miss FBL.

Interview with Channel 12 News - Congratulations

As the Charter President of the BKB, I handled a lot of the public relations events. I was in charge of the ribbon cutting, did radio interviews, recorded a marketing piece for the radio and I was even interviewed by a Cape news channel. I received many letters in the mail "congratulating" me on my achievements. Here is one letter from a pastor of one of the churches in my hometown.

"Bank Officers are High School Students"

Just another article about the Black Knight Branch at Farmington High School.

First State Community Bank - Black Knight Branch

I was approached, my sophomore year in high school, by the principle of Farmington High School with an idea he had. Dr. Waters said if he brought this idea to the school, he wanted to have someone skilled and ready to accept the challenge of running the first-ever student-run bank branch out of the high school. It was the summer before my senior year (in 2006) when this dream became reality and I began training to work and run the Black Knight Branch out of my high school. I was the Charter President with duties of opening/closing, holding board meetings, serving on a Focus Board for the main bank, attending Chamber of Commerce meetings, preparing financial statements and forecasting financials as well. Because I was in charge of the first year of operations, I was also in charge of the marketing, public relations and promotion of the Black Knight Branch.

My Sister's Closet - Advertisement

I tried traditional, and untraditional ways of marketing My Sister's Closet. This is just one traditional form of advertising I used to promote my store for back to school shopping.
